FAQ's
- Q: How do I size the HyTec Coolers for my application?
- A: Noren HyTec oil coolers are sized by providing us with the following information: motor HP, Oil Temperature, Ambient Temperature and start factor. These variables come into play when deciding the best unit for your application. We also build custom units for custom applications.
- Q: How long does it take to install a HyTec Cooler?
- A: The installations on specific applications vary depending on the type of reservoir, location and design of the baskets. Our website has information on each unit along with detailed installation procedures.
- Q: What if my machine room is too hot?
- A: The HyTec Coolers work best with cooler ambient air. The machine room needs to have a 20-40F degree temperature difference from the oil temperature to the rooms ambient temperature to provide the greatest cooling results. The lower end of the heat pipe core is submersed into the hot oil and wicks the heat up, where it is dissipated by the fans to the ambient air. If the air is too hot, very little heat can be transferred and the unit will not perform optimally.
- Q: Can I duct the heat from the room?
- A: Yes, over the years, we have seen many applications which do just that. We developed a ducted unit which directs all the all of the waste heat to a duct you provide, preventing heat buildup in the room and allowing maximum oil cooling.
