Proper Thermal Management = Money Saved

Heat is a killer and the sun is not the problem. It is the heat generated by nearly every electronic or mechanical device made, and it is a problem without proper thermal management solutions. From servers to computers, from cars to elevators, this need is shared. Heat sinks in your PC are hard at work making sure your surfing is not interrupted and elevators make use of an elevator oil cooler to keep them moving efficiently. A low-cost heat exchanger in the form of engine coolant keeps that car running cool until a destination is reached. All of these things work to accomplish one goal, efficient thermal management. This process uses a specific medium, such as a heat sink in a computer, that transfers heat from one object (the processor for instance) to another object (the heat sink) that can withstand the higher temperature, thus creating thermal equilibrium. Most thermal management systems make use of fans, a panel cooler and/or enclosure cooling systems as well for increased efficiency. Surprisingly, given the job done by these various thermal products, they can be low-cost, protective solutions for overheating electronics and mechanical parts. The cost to replace mechanical and electronic devices might be steep, but with the right thermal solutions and proper maintenance heat won’t be an issue.
